Mr. Hosking is a security guard;

Habitat for Humanity helps families who could not otherwise save for a
house by providing interest-free mortgages on the homes. Their downpayment
is “sweat equity” in that they help build the homes. When they start paying
the mortgage on the new homes, the payments are put into future Habitat
building projects.

For nine-year-old Kenzie, the new home meant she would have her own bedroom
for the first time.

“I have slept in my mom’s bedroom in her bed my whole life, nine long
years,” she said.
