The harassment case against schools trustee Chris Stampolis looms over the race for Santa Clara Unified School District board — even though Stampolis himself is not running. Eight candidates are seeking three seats Nov. 4. One camp believes that the behavior of Stampolis and the board majority has eroded staff morale, sent talented educators fleeing and diverted attention from pressing needs. Others blame anti-Stampolis sentiment on an old guard resistant to change.
